If you thought regular Jenga put you on a cliffhanger, just wait until you experience the thrill of Giant Outdoor Jenga. This supersized version of the game takes the excitement to huge heights! It’s perfect for backyard parties, BBQs, or just a regular day at home. Giant Jenga is all about balance, strategy, and a bit of bravery. Here’s everything you need to know about stacking those blocks sky-high and (hopefully) avoiding the epic crash.

The Objective

The game is simple: You take turns removing one block at a time from anywhere below the top completed layer and place it on top of the tower. The game continues until someone knocks the tower over.

What You’ll Need

Giant Jenga Blocks: Normally, the size of Jenga is 7.5 cm long. With our giant Jenga the sizes range from 54-127 cm. (Talk about Giant!)

A Flat Surface: Find a flat, sturdy surface, like grass, pavement, or polished wood.

Setting Up

How to Build the Tower: Start by stacking the blocks in layers of three. Each layer should be perpendicular to the one below it. You’ll end up with an 18-level-skyscraper that’s ready to be conquered.

The Starting Player: Who’s going first? Going first has its advantages, and its disadvantages (advice: It doesn’t matter that much!).

How to Play

Remove a Block: On your turn, carefully remove one block from the tower. You can use only one hand (it’s not that easy!).

Place it on Top: After removing the block, stack it very carefully on top of the tower, with the ends facing the other way to the blocks below. The tower grows taller and more unstable with each move. Making the game harder as you get better.

Winning the Game: Players take turns taking and placing blocks until the tower comes crashing down. The player who causes the collapse loses, whether it was their turn or not.

Tips for New Jenga Masters

Test Their Worthiness: Gently tap blocks to see which one is loose. A block that moves easily is less likely to cause an avalanche (This tip has saved me many times!)

Take Advantage of the Middle: Try to tap blocks out from the center rather than the sides to stop your tower from crashing down.

Patience is key: Take your time, rushing is a sure way to topple the tower and whatever you do, do not let your hand tremble (I know it’s hard, it happens to me all the time!).

Ways to Spice Up Your Jenga

Timed Jenga: Set a timer for each turn. If a player doesn’t complete their move before time’s up, they're out of the game. If it’s too easy, then up the time as the rounds proceed.

Jenga Challenges: Write challenges or dares on some of the blocks. When a player pulls a block with a challenge, they have to complete it successfully before stacking. (You can still play the normal version, just ignore the writing on them.)

Run Jenga: Grab your block and chase circles around your tower, after 3 or 4 times, place your block at the top of the tower (Good luck with this one!)

Team Jenga: Play in teams, where each team member must pull a block and stack it at the same time before the next team goes.

Safety First!

Remember, Giant Jenga can be a bit wild, especially when the tower tumbles. You don’t need to go crazy and buy a full-on construction helmet, but it’s still a smart idea to keep a safe distance when it’s someone else’s turn. Always keep one eye peeled!

Wrap-Up

Giant Outdoor Jenga is a hit in any backyard or event. It’s easy to learn, quick to play, and best of all - fun. Whether you’re a block-stacking newbie or a Jenga Jedi, Jenga is guaranteed to keep everyone on their toes. Good luck!
